Liability Waiver

This Home STEM Program Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement (“Waiver”) applies to participation in Inventor STEM School’s Home STEM Program, including the use of rented equipment, educational materials, curriculum, software, robotics components, electronic devices, and related activities (“Home STEM Program”).

By renting, receiving, or using a Home STEM Rental Kit, the parent or legal guardian agrees to the terms of this Waiver.

  1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that STEM and robotics activities may involve:

  • small parts that may present a choking hazard;
  • electronic devices and batteries;
  • moving mechanical components;
  • building and construction activities;
  • computer and technology use;
  • other activities that may result in injury if used improperly.

I voluntarily choose to allow my child to participate in the Home STEM Program and knowingly assume all ordinary risks associated with such participation.

  1. Parent Supervision Responsibility

I understand that the Home STEM Program takes place outside the supervision and control of Inventor STEM School.

I agree that I am responsible for:

  • supervising my child as appropriate for their age and abilities;
  • ensuring safe use of equipment;
  • following all provided instructions and safety guidance;
  • preventing misuse of equipment and materials.
  1. Health and Safety

I acknowledge that I am responsible for determining whether the Home STEM Program is appropriate for my child.

I agree to discontinue participation if I believe any activity, equipment, or circumstance presents an unreasonable risk.

  1. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Massachusetts law, I release and hold harmless Inventor STEM School, its owners, officers, employees, instructors, contractors, volunteers, and affiliates from claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from participation in the Home STEM Program, including use of rented equipment and curriculum materials.

This release does not apply to claims resulting from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

  1. Property Damage

I accept responsibility for damage to my own property, equipment, devices, internet services, or other materials arising from participation in the Home STEM Program.

  1. No Warranty

I understand that educational materials, equipment, and curriculum are provided for learning purposes.

Inventor STEM School does not guarantee any specific educational outcome, academic achievement, competition result, admission decision, or future success arising from participation in the Home STEM Program.

  1. Emergency Medical Care

I understand that Inventor STEM School is not present to provide supervision, emergency response, or medical care during Home STEM Program activities.

I accept full responsibility for obtaining any necessary medical care for my child.

  1. Governing Law

This Waiver shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

If any provision of this Waiver is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.

  1. Acknowledgment

I certify that:

  • I am at least 18 years old;
  • I am the parent or legal guardian of the participating child;
  • I have read and understood this Waiver;
  • I understand that I am giving up certain legal rights on behalf of myself and my child;
  • I voluntarily agree to these terms.
